Age: 17 - 35 Years
An anesthesia technologist is an allied healthcare professional whose main job is to assist surgeons during surgery. They administer appropriate dose of anesthesia. They operate anesthesia equipments when it is needed.
They also work in Intensive Care Unit (ICU),Emergency wards and departments and Operation theatres. Mainly their task is preoperative, they should be there before the operation starts, to administer anesthetic agent to the patients with the surgeon. They should also monitor patients throughout surgery.
In Ganga Institute of Health Sciences we train students in all aspects such as anesthetic equipments, anesthetic techniques, anesthetic agents and dosage, patient monitoring, anesthesia supplies and anesthesia technology.
The knowledge and skills that they acquire helps them in choosing appropriate anesthesia, determining appropriate dose, operating anesthetic equipment and monitoring patients conditions.
An anesthetic technician takes care of anesthesia supply and stock, equipment setup, pre intra and post surgery anesthetic administering agent, caring and monitoring patient
They work in ICU,CCU,ED, Surgery wards and operation theater. Usually they work in a team with the surgeons, nurses and other staff.

Eligibility for Under Graduate AHS programmes
Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the Allied Health Sciences should have passed the qualifying examinations after period of 12 years of study with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology with minimum 50% marks in each subjects (Academic / Vocational Stream).
